InterAct Performance Coaching

Training and Coaching for Presenters and Front-Line Customer Care Staff

There is no question that the overall success of a product or service can often come down to how well staff members relate to the public.

Whether a front-line employee or presenter is inexperienced or a little shy, or is a seasoned pro who could use a new perspective or a little polish, guidance in every aspect of performance is what InterAct is all about.

• InterAct will review existing operations, observe tour guides, sales presenters, retail and hospitality staff or other guest service employees, then propose a customized program ranging from seminars to one-on-one coaching which will include lectures, interactive exercises and printed reference material.

• All programs will cover topics from appearance and speech, through projecting a positive attitude and adjusting presentation when needed.

• InterAct’s “Coaching through encouragement” has produced positive bottom line results for attractions, public speakers, sales presenters, docents and the retail and hospitality industries. It has also been successful as an at-risk youth readiness-for-work program.

Voiceover

Mic-2.jpg

I’ve been on a microphone since I was a kid. I played bass, sang, and was ‘Front Man’ in cover bands for over a decade. I produced and performed in wildlife theme park shows for over twenty years. In addition to the live show emcee work, I also recorded the park's character and promo voiceovers. I found a niche, so I hired an agent and began my professional career in recorded voiceover in commercials, narration, and cartoon characters.

I was cast to record a promo for an HBO special, a couple of Round Table Pizza commercials, White Castle Hamburger and Surewest Wireless commercials, and the voice of Frog in the video game version of the Frog and Toad are Friends kids book series. There were several non-broadcast narration projects also.

  • How to create voice characterizations using imagination, observations, direction and descrptions

  • Use of accents, dialects, voice placement, attitude and emotion

  • Common uses of Voice Over (i.e., Computer Games, Commercials, Promo, Narration, Animation)

Students will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop a variety of character voices

  • Rehearse and perform scripts

  • Perform dialogue with other actors

  • Perform “On-Mic”

  • Just have fun creating voices from silly to dramatic

I had a great up-bringing in a big family in Detroit around a lot of music…and love. I grew up singing in choirs, playing bass & singing in garage bands, then clubs and shows and music courses at the community college. I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in my early 20s where I continued as a musician and “front man.” Next was several fun-filled years at Marine World / Africa USA (now Six Flags Discovery Kingdom) and The San Francisco Zoo.

I learned to love educational and wildlife shows and I got to play with dolphins and baby tigers. So cool! As Director of Show Production I produced and performed in the park’s shows, coached announcers and docents, managed staff and sound systems and booked entertainment. It was during these years that I developed my acting and voice over career. After years with SAG/AFTRA and West Coast representation, I'm on my own and living in beautiful Asheville North Carolina. I'd be glad to provide references, testimonials, headshots, clients/projects info if you'd like. Feel free to contact me!
